C of E Caves
The Church of England under the leadership of Archbishop Rowan Williams will allow gay and lesbian clergy to enter into "civil unions" and remain active in the C of E. Of couse, they must remain celibate (whew).
I can't imagine the turmoil and agony many orthodox Anglicans continue to live in. This is not the ECUSA acting out, this is the Archbishop of Canterbury submiting his "faith" to the civil law of England. This is very troubling for all Christians, for the leaders all communions that call themselves Christian will likely face the same stark choice in the next few years. God help us all to uphold the Faith.

Thanks for the link, Pete. Your blog was actually the first place I saw this, as I've been rather deficient in keeping up-to-date while I enjoy my summer break and lots of comic strips to bury myself under.
I do like Rowan Williams. I've seen so many criticisms of him, but I basically do like him.
I appreciated John H's appraisal of the situation here:
Don't ask, don't tell, just keep digging
I love the Anglican communion. I am saddened now, but I am not yet mourning.
"... They accept, however, that the new law leaves them little choice but to accept the right of gay clergy to have civil partners."
That portion of the article really bugs me (if it is a realistic protrayal).
(That is the article I posted to, not John H's)
Found another interesting take on the situation...
RatherNot - Goin' to the Chapel?
I should point out that I don't agree with everything contained in it and don't wish to spend any time at all right now debating.... just sharing is all.
That gives me a more general perspective. Thanks.
